I still remember the day I received a phone call from an advertisement of mine for “freelance web development” in craig’s list vancouver from Sheldon Cahoon for web development work for the site complete child development. In the introduction he has taken all the big names attached to the company like Bob Proctor etc. I think its on September, 2010. After a gruelling two weeks of work for making the website when it comes to payment there is no trace of Sheldon or Dan Deigan (the co owner) I still guess whether those are their real name. The company’s name is “Virtual Advantage”, their email address finishes with the company’s url. Its January end still have not seen a dime of it, after sending repeated email attachment with the invoice and stopped answering my phone call. Now I came to know that I am a victim of fraud. I think there will a lot of developers like me who has been bitten badly by craig’s list advertisement response. So developers beware of the companies like “Virtual Advantage” they will take advantage of you virtually and you cant do anything as these companies are virtual companies operating with a POBox. All the names like Bob Proctor etc. are all lies. So bottom line is always take the advance and then when all the finished product are about to transfer the rest of the money. Other wise people like Sheldon will take advantage of your trust.
